UTANG NA LOOB explores immigrant family separation and the Pilipino cultural trait of utang na loob or "debt to one's inner self." Produced during a pandemic, this film uses collage animation techniques and remote interviewing to tell the personal story of a 1.5 generation Pilipino-American grappling with their mother’s immeasurable sacrifice all the while navigating a relationship strained by years spent apart.
